HEADING OUT TONIGHT....

We leave tonight at 7:30pm (11:30am Wednesday your time) for Donetsk where the orphanage is located. We think it will be about a 13 hour train ride. Ugg! We could have flown but I am not crazy about flying (especially on smaller planes) so we are taking the train. We are hoping we will be able to head to the orphanage sometime Thurs. to meet Diana.

Dave keeps finding little bits and pieces of Brenna all over. He found her pink Barbie watch in one of the pockets on his cargo shorts. In another pocket he found one of her little pink rubber bands. And in yet another pocket he found a bunch of shells that Brenna picked up when we were at the beach. He got a little teary-eyed with each discovery. Jeez, when is the last time I washed those shorts!!??!!

Not much else new. We went to the Tiko Market again to get some snacks and water for the long train ride. (And we bought you a little present Brenna!!!) And, yes, Ken we got some more Mini Twix because they DO cover all the major food groups....we think so anyway!

Well, that's all for now. We will post again after we meet little Diana in Donetsk! We hope she's the one!

13 hours... thats a long ride. Well, we will be thinking of you all day and night seeing you will be on the train for awhile. Dave---hang in there! You will have plenty of pink watches, rubberbands, etc...to discover with 2 girls in the future. Brenna slept good last night. She came in to our room about 3:30-4:00. She is just loving having the boys here 24/7.

Poor Dave. I hope this country has a lot of kleenex!
This train ride will be quite an experience. In Europe people take everything on the train, including their animals. It will be a long ride, try to rest and again be careful. Can't wait to hear how your visit goes with Diana. Brenna was telling me yesterday everything that she is going to teach Aubree. She is sooo cute. I'll be thinking of you all day. Love you - Mom

Shan and Dave,
you know that it is said that "there are no accidents". There must have been a reason that the shorts weren't wahsed, and I think you now know why. I hope that your train ride is peaceful, quiet and allows you both the time to enjoy each other and prepare your hearts for all the emotions it will be experiencing in a few short hours. Can't wait to see pictures of your beautiful little girl.
Love, Angela

HI EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN FOLLOWING THE SITE. I HAVE HAD A FEW CALLS WONDERING WHAT IS UP WITH SHANNON AND DAVE. I SPOKE TO SHANNON YESTERDAY IN THE MORNING (aUG. 5)AND THINGS ARE GOING FINE. THEY ARE VERY BUSY-- WE DID NOT GET TALK VERY LONG AT ALL - JUST THE BASICS ABOUT BRENNA. SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING BACK TO TRY TO POST SOME INFO BUT NOTHING EVER CAME UP. BUT THEN SHE DID LEAVE A MESSAGE AT MY MOMS YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT 1:30 PM (aUG 5---) wHEN i TALKED TO HER IN THE MORNING IT WAS ALREADY 4:00PM THIER TIME AND SHE SAID THEY WERE BEAT FROM THE 13 HOUR TRAIN RIDE AND ALL THE RUNNING AROUND SO I AM THINKING EITHER THEY FINISHED UP SOME ERRANDS AND WHEN THEY GOT HOME JUST WENT TO BED. OR MAYBE THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE INTERNET. ( IF THIS IS THE CASE I WILL POST AGAIN AND LET YOU ALL KNOW) BUT HOPEFULLY THINGS WILL COME UP SOON. I KNOW WE ARE ALL WAITING!!! PLEASE KEEP THEM IN YOUR THOUGHTS!!!LOVE- NIKKI
